90's Grunge

I've been seeing a lot of flannels and plaid around the stores lately. On a recent shopping trip, I visited the Gap, which was chock-full of plaid. From shirts to scarves, and even skirts, the store immediately made me want to listen to my Nevermind album. It seems Patrick Robinson's new line for the Gap has a Nirvana-esque vibe to it. Maybe he's been listening to Nevermind, too?

Mary-Kate seems to have already picked up on this trend. Although, I'm not sure how I feel about how she's wearing that flannel...

Black Cab Sessions

I stumbled upon the coolest website this morning! The site features live videos of various artists performing in the backseat of a taxi.

According to the website, "The sessions are all about great music and the venue strips this to its essence. We aren't picky about genre and will happily open the cab door to anyone who blows us away." What a creative idea!

Check out the above video of Spoon (one of my favorites!) during a Black Cab Session.

A Vogue Idea

Fall is almost here and what's fall without a new pair of boots? Piperlime reveals this season's statement boots - biker boots, silver wedge boots and laced-up boots. I'm a HUGE fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs biker boots pictured above. These, paired with tights and a short skirt/dress or with skinny pants tucked into them - delish!

Vogue TV presenter, Louise Roe, goes into futher details about each boot trend in a short video found on Piperlime. Go here to watch it!

mmmm...Chocolate

While visiting some of my regular websites this morning, I came across an exciting treat! The M&M company has a new addition to the family - M&M's Premiums - and they're already on US shelves (how was I not alerted of this earlier?). These little delights come in five flavors: triple chocolate, mint chocolate, mocha, raspberry almond and chocolate almond.

According to the New York Times (check out the commercial...a little risque for candy!), the company hopes to "attract a young, fashion-conscious consumer to the product." The candies are even scheduled to appear at New York Fashion Week in September.

If you head to the official website, you can get some additional info and descriptions on each of the flavors. Ms. Green will also urge you to take "The Fabulous Quiz" to discover whether you're fresh and fierce, fun and flirty, or fashion forward.

I'm looking forward to trying the mocha...yum!

Lucky Girl

A couple months ago I FINALLY signed up for a subscription of Lucky magazine. After purchasing the latest issue every month at nearly $5 a pop, I decided it was about time. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that for a 2-year subscription, I was charged less than $20...lucky me!

Not only is the magazine amazing, but the website can occupy me for hours! The "cute outfit of the day" (top photo) and "street style" (bottom photo) pieces are my go-to sections when I'm in the mood for a little fashion inspiration. The two pictures above are a couple of my recent faves. Muted and neutral colors? Yes. But, completely chic and put-together nonetheless!

...and I'm back!

One would only assume that a writer would want to write. I graduated with a Journalism degree in 2006 and I've pretty much been on a writing hiatus since - which isn't at all what I had planned. While attending OSU, I wrote for The Lantern and interned at Columbus Alive...loving every minute of both experiences.

After much contemplation (and a little courage!), I finally decided to start a blog. Hopefully readers and site-surfers will get as much pleasure out of my reading my posts as I do writing them.

Please feel free to comment or question anything and everything on here - thanks and enjoy!
