Happy Holidays!

So, I know I've been insanely bad about blogging this month and I'm totally chalking it up to holiday preparation. New Year's resolution: become a better, more consistent, blogger. In the meantime, I leave you with a still of the best scene of my all-time favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas Story. Enjoy!

Listening to:

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - "Home"

Man oh man, I love this song. And, it's perfectly appropriate for the upcoming holidays.

Who wears short shorts?

I don't have many holiday parties or extravagant plans set for this season, but if anything comes up I've decided I'm definitely going to break out some fancy schmancy shorts. While I'm typically a sucker for pretty dresses and lovely skirts, I'm wanting to try something a bit more unexpected. A fitted blazer, tights and cute booties thrown on with any of the pairs below would totally have me strutting my stuff at any holiday event.

Funny Stuff

I'm not sure if I'm just way behind in discovering this website or if there's many of you who also haven't heard of it, but, all I can say is, you better set aside countless hours because it will most certainly suck you in.

27b/6 is the site of David Thorne, an Australian humorist and Internet personality/author, and is essentially a collection of various humorous stories from Thorne's life.

Below is just a snippet (albeit a long snippet) of what you can find on the site. Enjoy!

Subject: Whose spider is that?

Dear Jane,
Are you sure this drawing of a spider is the one I sent you? This spider only has seven legs and I do not feel I would have made such an elementary mistake when I drew it.

Regards, David.

Hello, I am back and have read through your emails and accept that despite missing a leg, that drawing of a spider may indeed be the one I sent you. I realise with hindsight that it is possible you rejected the drawing of a spider due to this obvious limb ommission but did not point it out in an effort to avoid hurting my feelings. As such, I am sending you a revised drawing with the correct number of legs as full payment for any amount outstanding. I trust this will bring the matter to a conclusion.

Regards, David.

I understand and will definitely make a payment this week if I remember. As you have not accepted my second drawing as payment, please return the drawing to me as soon as possible. It was silly of me to assume I could provide you with something of completely no value whatsoever, waste your time and then attach such a large amount to it.

Regards, David.

All I want for Christmas is...

...this B-E-A-utiful leather jacket (in black).
And, quite amazingly, my thoughtful, wonderful, too good husband purchased this baby for me AND is already letting me wear it. I just love it when Santa comes early.

Fun and Flashy

This shouldn't be new news to anyone who frequents malls or websites, but sequins are quite the hot trend nowadays. And now that we're in the midst of the holiday season, I'm seeing more and more pieces featuring these bad boys all over town. Of course I love sequin party dresses and beautiful sequin blazers, but I'm especially intrigued by the casual sequin tees and tanks. I'm really, REALLY needing one of these to pair with some skinny jeans and ultra high heels. Just the right amount of glam for a night on the town.

Comfortable Travels

Again, I apologize for being MIA lately...last week was crazy with Nick and my first holiday as a married couple, traveling to and from the opposite ends of the state. We did have a lovely time in Cleveland with my family and friends and then a wonderful visit with Nick's friends and family in the Dayton/Cincinnati region. All in all, the perfect holiday, complete with TONS of food and fun.

Although both our families are within driving distance of us, I can't help but want this fabulous set of suitcases that form a sofa when not in use. Neat, huh??
How great would this be if you're stuck in the airport, en route home or vacation?? The four pieces of luggage (2 pieces of hand luggage and 2 pieces of large luggage) are covered with fabrics commonly used on traditional sofas. According to the designer, "[t]his concept came from a research on nostalgia during travelling. When a familiar object from home is taken with you on a trip you feel much more at ease. And which object is more familiar then your own comfortable couch."

Check out all the info here.
